Practicing Safety For One And All

A group of Constable Ted Heap's deputies spent yesterday working on high risk traffic stops. These stops involve suspected felons or otherwise dangerous situations requiring the utmost caution for their deputies on the streets. Lt. James Preston and his training staff lead the deputies through multiple scenarios, instructing and reviewing their responses with every repetition.

Most of these participants are rookies, but there are several veteran deputies included in each class too. The mix of experienced and inexperienced is intentional as senior deputies can get a refresher while also serving as veteran mentors for those wearing our badge for the first time.

These scenarios get the adrenaline pumping, and part of their training program is to get deputies to keep control of their adrenaline, keep their thought processes sound in unpredictable situations, and protect both themselves and civilians who may be on hand. #constabletedheap #yourconstable
