Utility bills for residents living in the City of Katy
ATTENTION RESIDENTS: Please be aware that utility bills sent at the end of February are for water usage from January 15th to February 14th, before the freeze. This bill does not include consumption due to leaks or dripping pipes during the storm.
Late fees were not charged in February. Late notices were not mailed and there will not be any cut-offs for nonpayment of bills that were due on February 16th. They ask if you have not paid this bill, please do so by 5 pm on Friday, March 5th to avoid a late fee being added to your March 17th bill.
They understand that some of their residents may be concerned that their water bill might be higher due to the inclement weather last week. Customers should not panic, although it looks like a lot of water when a pipe bursts, in most cases it is less than 1000 gallons and that equates to less than $6.00. If you experienced a water pipe burst or leak, please report it to ub@cityofkaty.com for an adjustment to your March 30th billing.
